Attestation of documents

In Canada, attestation of a document could mean three different services i.e. notarization of documents by a Notary Public, oath administration by an Oath Commissioner, or simple notarization of a true copy of the original document, by a Notary Public. What actually is required in respect of a specific document should either be written on the document itself, or you may need to talk to the institution or office requiring attestation of the document. In most cases, the requirements are written on the document itself.
