Common law declarations

Common Law Declaration

Common Law Declaration is a sworn statement under the law i.e. a statutory declaration under the laws of Canada. It is often required by the Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in spousal sponsorship applications, from the couples who are not formally married to each other. In the absence of a marriage, this statutory declaration is used to prove the relationship.

Our professional document drafting services includes preparation of Common Law Declaration, getting it reviewed by you, and then signing of the declaration in our office. You can send us relevant details through email to let us prepare the draft. Once initial draft is prepared we send the draft to you for review and corrections. Once final draft is ready, you can come to our office for signature and notarization. The whole process can be completed same day, in most cases within a couple of hours or less. In this case our fee will include document drafting fee and notarization cost.

Alternatively, you can prepare the draft declaration yourself and bring final printed copy to our office for signature and commissioning/notarization. In this case our standard notarization fee will apply only.

We also offer mobile notary service, in case you are unable to visit our office. Presently this services is only available in the GTA area with prior appointment. For further details please go to Mobile Notary page of this website.
